What to Watch in the Theater:
The Disaster Artist (R) is in theaters now. This movie about the making of a bad film is filled with so much star power, it ALMOST makes us want to see “The Room.” It’s a clever undertaking for the Franco brothers, but we’re not completely on board with re-hashing bad filmmaking.

Molly’s Game (R) is in wide release today. Based on a true story about a woman who built her own empire from high-stakes poker, this movie is compelling, and an excellent vehicle for Jessica Chastain. It’s great to see a smart woman make the best of her situation, and continue to take the high road, even when confronted with possible dire consequences.

Insidious: The Last Key (PG13) opens today. It’s nice to see Lin Shaye’s Elise take center stage in this one, and to finally get her origin story. It’s not the best of the franchise, but it offers some good scares – not all of them of the paranormal variety. We smell the potential for more sequels, featuring a new generation.
