What to Watch in the Theater:
Life (R) is now in theaters. This sci-fi thriller borrows a lot from the original Alien, but offers a view of a current-day space station with a small, close-knit international crew. It didn’t do well at the box office, but should be a good watch when it hits home theaters.
Our rating: 4 out of 5
Unforgettable (R) opens today. Interesting twists unfold in this relationship-gone-wrong plot, but still seems a bit predictable. Rosario Dawson and Katherine Heigl do a great job, with the latter maybe a bit too over the top as the movie progresses.
Our rating: 3.75 out of 5
What to Watch at Home (Or Not):
Sandy Wexler (TV14) Another Adam Sandler exclusive to Netflix, this comedy wins major points for all the celebrities it packs into its overly long running time. The 90s jokes are fresh but the storyline is a little stale.
Our rating: 3.5 out of 5
Nocturnal Animals (R) This is one of those movies that either touches you or completely loses you, and our team was split 4 and 0. An emotionally-draining artsy film featuring a great cast and some confusing plot points, this one’s definitely not for everyone.
Our rating: 2 out of 5
