What to Watch in the Theater:
It Comes at Night (R) is in theaters now. Although there are some good scares, and it’s a decent story about human nature, the title is misleading and this movie lacks some necessary details.
Our rating: 1.5 out of 5
Cars 3 (G) opens today. Harkening back to the original Cars, this family-friendly animated film pays homage to a missing character. It’s action-packed but will also tug on your heartstrings quite a bit. Word of advice – there’s a pretty serious crash scene that may upset very young fans of Lightning McQueen.
Our rating: 4.5 out of 5
What to Watch at Home (Or Not):
Idiocracy (R) Fun comedy about a dystopian future where everyone is incredibly dumb and destroying the planet. This one was overlooked when it came out in 2006, but has gained in popularity recently.
Our rating: 4 out of 5
Dead Again (R) This 1991 mystery/romance stars Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh, filmed when they were a married couple. The story’s 1949 flashbacks are black & white, which is a nice touch, and there are some great twists.
Our rating: 4.25 out of 5
