Life & Legacy are Everything, Even for Pirates

What to Watch in the Theater:
Everything, Everything (PG13) is in theaters now. The big screen adaptation is quite different from the YA novel, but still an interesting watch. Pulls on the heartstrings a bit, and both parents and teens will find something to identify with.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (PG13) opens today. You might want to re-watch the original trilogy first, or at least Pirates 3, because that’s where this story picks up. It’s great to see so many original cast members back, plus a new generation and super nasty bad guy. We’d be game for a Pirates 6 after this one!
Our rating: 4.5 out of 5

What to Watch at Home (Or Not):
The Red Turtle (PG) Beautiful but confusing animation with lots of meaning and no dialogue. This is not something to watch more for enlightenment than entertainment.
Our rating: 3.33 out of 5

The 9th Life of Louis Drax (R) Interesting fantasy/thriller that keeps you guessing about the unusual aspects of the story all the way through. This mostly overlooked film deserves another look.
Our rating: 3.75 out of 5
