What to Watch in the Theater:
Daddy’s Home 2 (PG13) is in theaters now. This sequel is just as fun and almost as funny as the original. When Dusty’s and Brad’s dads join the co-family for the holidays, hilarity ensues, with a side dish of heartwarming. Adding the older generation worked a bit better for these guys than it did for the Bad Moms crew. Plus, this one is an entertaining sleigh ride for the WHOLE family, not just the grownups.
Our rating: 4.17 out of 5
The Star (PG) is in theaters now. An entertaining new take on the Christmas story, full of fun characters – mostly animals! Hey, who doesn’t like familiar stories told from the perspective of animals? (At least they’re animated and not talking live action ones!) The soundtrack is nice, and kids are sure to enjoy the animals. It may not work as well for older teens and young adults, but parents will enjoy while watching with younger kids.
Our rating: 3.67 out of 5
Coco (PG) is in theaters now. Pixar has done it again, and this time they’re using humans (alive and dead) to tug on our heartstrings. It’s about young Miguel, going against his family to pursue his love of music, while he unknowingly unravels a mystery from his past. The wonderful soundtrack enhances this journey through a beautiful cultural experience. Max rated this one a 6, and he doesn’t think Pixar should do movies about humans.

What to Watch at Home (Or Not):
Future Man (TVMA) This Hulu original series follows a janitor, who excels at video games, tasked with helping to save the world. A time-traveling duo from the future brings the ultimate adventure into his life, and they learn a lot from each other as they jump back and forth in time. This fun series is definitely for adults. Keep an eye out for homages to Back to the Future, the ultimate time travel movie.
