What to Watch in the Theater:
Leap! (PG) is in theaters now. This family-friendly animated film has been out in other parts of the world since December. It’s neither the best animation nor historically accurate, but it’s a fun film about following your dreams. It’s an interesting voice cast, including the legend himself, Mel Brooks.
Our rating: 3.83 out of 5
Wind River (R) is in theaters now. This movie, based on true events, brings to light a life-threatening situation faced by Native American women. The story is compelling, with a pair of Avengers in the leads. (That’s coincidence, it’s not a superhero film.) Well-acted, with beautiful scenery, let’s hope this sad tale gets the ball rolling on making some changes to the system.
Our rating: 4.5 out of 5
What to Watch at Home (Or Not):
How to Be a Latin Lover (PG13) Parts of this movie were laugh out loud funny, but much of it was inappropriate for 13-year-olds. It’s like an ALMOST family-friendly sex farce. It’s a funny story with a great cast, but be prepared for questions from the kiddies.
Our rating: 3.83 out of 5
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (PG13) This film got a bad rap at the box office, perhaps because it’s from Guy Ritchie or maybe nobody wants to see the King Arthur story again. It was an origin story of sorts, with some extra black magic and well-choreographed fight scenes. Not worth the huge budget, but not a bad watch.
