What to Watch in the Theater:
Tulip Fever (R) is in theaters now. This historical romance, which takes place in 17th century Amsterdam, has its interesting aspects and some nice performances. But aside from the excitement surrounding a plot for young married Sophia to escape her husband, the story is not overly compelling.

It (R) opens today. This eagerly-anticipated re-telling is a solidly entertaining film, a bit reminiscent of Stand By Me. The horror could have packed a little more punch in the scare department, but the real wallop is up to each viewer’s fear of clowns, or lack thereof. A lot of great acting from the cast, young and old.
Our rating: 4 out of 5
What to Watch at Home (Or Not):
CHIPS (R) This update to the 70s TV series was more of a farce than a comedy/drama, with some pretty outrageous and inappropriate gags. It was entertaining, with some good laughs, but has some performance issues.

Naked (TV14) This Netflix original was a fun watch. Not just because it’s an homage to Groundhog Day, but because the story was done really well. It was heartwarming to see the main character’s growth through the movie, with a lot of hilarious situations along the way.
